ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
THE BRENDA FAYE INITIATIVE
The Brenda Faye Initiative for Academic Excellence and Cancer, was founded in memory of Brenda Faye, a passionate Educator and Advocate for quality education. Graduating with a Bachelor’s in English at the age of 19, she dedicated her life to fostering education excellence and innovation.
Some of the awards and achievements she achieved include:
- Assistant Principal of The Year
- JM African-American Achiever Award
- Legacy Magazine’s Top Black Educator
- Acquired Over $2,000,000 in Federal Grants For Miami-Dade Public Schools
- Acquired Over $6,000,000 in Federal Grants For Food Programs For Disadvantaged Youth
Even though Brenda lost her battle to pancreatic cancer, our mission is to uplift underserved students through educational programs and scholarships while also supporting cancer patients and their families with resources, care, and hope. Because no dream should be cut short, and no family should fight alone. With your help, we can change lives—one student, one family, one future at a time.
